Public Input Sought on Hazards and Preparedness
Broward County Emergency Management Division is seeking input on how you have been impacted in the past by recent emergencies and how this has prompted you to prepare in the future. They also seek your perspective of hazards (natural/man-made) that have occurred recently.
Helping Hands Homeless Drive
Cooper City’s Teen Council launched their Helping Hands project and is collecting toiletries, hygienic supplies and non-perishables for Caring Place of Broward County that support the homeless in Broward County.

Items will be collected through February 28, 2023, at the following locations:
Cooper City Community Center, Pool & Tennis Center, Cooper City events, Cooper City High School and Pioneer Middle School.
Cooper City Senior Lifestyle Expo Offered Many Resources

It's Your Move. Mayor's Chess Challenge is February 11
Join Cooper City Mayor Greg Ross, children, and adults of all ages for this free event in support of Scholastic Chess! Players of all ages and skill levels are invited to participate in open play. The challenge is Saturday, February 11, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Pool and Tennis Center.
Progress: Watch a Fire Truck in the Making
This is not a build-a-truck toy -- it's the real deal. This is the new Cooper City fire engine that is currently in production and scheduled for completion by April 2023. Also, a new Cooper City fire rescue truck is starting production shortly and should be completed and in service before this summer. You can watch the production process of the vehicles online.

Cooper City CPR Heartsaver Classes
Designed for adult, child and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and includes information on foreign body airway obstruction. You must pre-register to attend. Limit four students per class.

Every month, City Manager Joseph Napoli and multiple department directors meet with the community via Zoom to answer questions and provide updates to city programs and initiatives. The next session is Thursday, February 23. Submit your questions.

Registration lottery for Cooper City residents opens Wednesday, February 22 at 6 p.m. Open registration begins Thursday, February 23 at 9 a.m. Non-residents registration opens Wednesday, March 15 at 9 a.m.
Optimist Celebrates 50 Years on February 25
The Optimist Club of Cooper City turns 50 and will celebrate its anniversary on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Suellen H. Fardelmann Sports Complex. There will be baseball, flag football and charity soccer games and other fun activities for kids at 4 p.m. Vendors will open up at 5 p.m. and a special ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. followed by a movie on field A. New year, new day, same place. Cooper City Walking Club moved to Mondays at 6 p.m. Join us to take a walk on the wild side with other community members at the Flamingo West Park Nature Trail, located at 6201 S Flamingo Road, Cooper City. For all ages and abilities.

The Cooper City Fitness Center is located at the Pool and Tennis Center. Explore your health insurance for membership benefits. An individual annual gym membership starts at only $85.60 for seniors (age 62+). An individual annual membership for Cooper City residents, age 14-61, is $139.10.

From soccer to cheerleading, there is a sport and team for all interests through the Optimist Club of Cooper City.

Utility Project Updates
(January 2023).

The new AT&T neighborhood fiber upgrade project began on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, in Rock Creek.

FPL will continue the three-year hardening plan. Field crews will be working throughout Cooper City, replacing wood poles with concrete or steel poles to make the system stronger and replacing smaller distribution lines with larger wire.

Florida Licensing on Wheels (FLOW) in Cooper City
FLOW services include license and I.D. credentialing services, renew a vehicle registration, emergency contact information registration, and purchase a specialty license plate. However, no written or driving tests are given from mobile units.

In the event a Cooper City resident calls 911 and there is no answer, Cooper City residents can call the BSO Cooper City station directly by dialing 954-435-2000. Cooper City's BSO station is the only BSO district to staff a lobby 24/7, 365 days a year.

SCAM ALERT - DO NOT OPEN OR SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
There have been reports of fraudulent text messages being sent to Floridians asking for driver license details. The text messages lead to a phony/fraudulent webpage that requests Social Security and driver license information. DO NOT share your personal information.

Cooper City Explorer Program

Our Cooper City BSO District is looking for teenagers interested in a career in law enforcement or criminal justice. If your child in considering a career in public safety, this program may be the perfect fit.

BSO Cares Program, Registry for People with Developmental Disorders

See a streetlight out or flickering, pothole, graffiti or beehive, report it through SeeClickFix, an online web application that allows any individual to report non-emergency issues on a map for everyone to see.

The SeeClickFix works as a request and work management system to get the job done.

From your phone, download the free SeeClickFix app and type in Cooper City, FL. To report, it's as easy as taking a photo and submitting. For updates on your service request, you will have to create a log-in.
