Upcoming City Commission Meeting

The City Commission will gather for a Regular Meeting on Tuesday, August 26 at 6:30 PM at City Hall located at 9090 SW 50 Place.

Mark Your Calendar - Upcoming Budget Hearing


The City Commission will hold the First Public Budget Hearing on Thursday, September 11 at 5:01 PM at City Hall.


Additionally, a Special Meeting is scheduled for Friday, September 12, at 10 AM for the adoption of the Fire Rescue Assessment.


Did You Know?

As of August 1, there's a permanent sales tax exemption, in Florida, for certain items previously exempted during temporary disaster preparedness sales tax holidays.


These items include:


  • Batteries (only AA, AAA, C, D, 6-volt, and 9-volt)
  • Bicycle helmets (Youth bicycle helmets were previously exempt. All bicycle helmets are exempt effective August 1, 2025.)
  • Carbon monoxide alarms
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Ground anchor systems and tie-down kits
  • Insect repellent
  • Life jackets
  • Portable gas cans with a capacity of 5 gallons or less
  • Portable generators capable of producing 10,000 running watts or less
  • Smoke detection devices
  • Sunscreen (excluding cosmetics or other products that are not primarily intended to absorb, reflect, or scatter ultraviolet radiation)
  • Waterproof tarpaulins (flexible waterproof tarps and sheeting that are 1,000 square feet or less)


Important to note, bottled water, first-aid kits and most canned goods were already tax-exempt in Florida.


We Are Accepting Book Donations!

We are gearing up for a Book Swamp and now accepting book donations at the Community Center and Pool and Tennis Center as we prepare for the upcoming Book Swap taking place on Friday, September 26 at the Community Center.


The event is free to attend and a book donation is not required to attend the Book Swap, but we encourage you to share stories and adventures in exchange for a new tale!

Active Adults Corner

Explore a diverse range of activities, classes, and programs tailored just for active adults! Please note, some programs have recently changed.


Programs include Rummikub at the Community Center on Tuesdays at 12 PM and Social Pinochle every Tuesday and Thursday, which is now back at the Pool & Tennis Center from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Humana Series: Harmonicas for Health | Community Center | 9000 SW 50th Place | Mondays, August 18 - September 15 | 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM 


Harmonicas for Health will help participants learn how to play the harmonica, which can help improve lung function. The program will meet each week for two hours for interactive sessions.

Step into a Fitness Routine


The Cooper City Fitness Center is located at 11600 Stonebridge Parkway within the Rock Creek community. An individual annual gym membership starts at only $85.60 for seniors (age 62+). An individual annual membership for Cooper City residents, age 15-61, is $139.10.

Vacation Home Watch Program


Did you know the Broward Sheriff's Office Cooper City District has a free Home Watch Program?


With this program, a deputy will check your home regularly while you are away. An exterior check of your home will be conducted to make sure there have been no unlawful entries and that no other obvious problems have occurred outside of your home. To sign up for this FREE service, please sign up online.

My Safe Florida Home


The My Safe Florida Home Program offers eligible home owners the opportunity to make an application for a wind mitigation home inspection free of charge by the State.

Fingerprinting Services


The BSO Cooper City District is now providing complimentary fingerprinting services to Cooper City residents and business owners. Fingerprinting is available by appointment only on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to noon and Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m.

Passport appointments every 15 minutes at City Hall.

What to Do If 911 Does Not Answer:


If a Cooper City resident calls 911 and receives no answer, there's no need to panic. You can call the BSO Cooper City station directly at 954-435-2000. It's worth noting that Cooper City's BSO station is the only BSO district to have a staffed lobby 24/7, 365 days a year.
