The first day of school is upon us! Below are some important links for parents and guardians along with some tips from our friends at the Broward County Sheriff's Office!

Before and Aftercare Programs

The School Year is Days Away, Sign Up Before Spots Fill Up

Our Parks and Recreation Department offers Before and Aftercare Programs for elementary and Pioneer Middle School students. The programs will consist of recreation activities, homework assistance, and more! The programs will operate on school days, Monday through Friday, and will only be available on Broward County School days.

Pre-School and Youth Swim Lessons

Registration Opens to Cooper City Residents August 13th


Young participants learn water safety, survival skills and foundational swimming concepts in a safe and fun environment. Skills are age-appropriate, allowing students to achieve success on a regular basis.

FPL Project and Resident Concerns

Florida Power & Light (FPL) is carrying out its Storm Secure Underground Program (SSUP) in Cooper City. This initiative is part of FPL’s broader effort to enhance grid resiliency by replacing overhead neighborhood power lines with underground lines.


Many Cooper City residents have recently reported electrical surges that have impacted household appliances, and FPL is assessing infrastructure that may be contributing to the surges. The City Commission and staff are aware of these issues and are actively engaged with FPL to advocate on behalf of affected residents.

Florida Licensing on Wheels

Online Signup Opens August 18th at 9 AM

Florida Licensing on Wheels (FLOW) will be visiting the Cooper City Community Center on Tuesday, October 21st from 10 AM to 2 PM. Appointments are required. Walk-ins are not permitted. If you would like to get an appointment, a sign-up form will open on Monday, August 18th at 9 AM.

Explore a diverse range of activities, classes, and programs tailored just for active adults! Please note, some programs have recently changed.


Summer programs include Rummikub at the Community Center on Tuesdays at 12 PM and Social Pinochle every Tuesday and Thursday at the Community Center from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Humana Series: Harmonicas for Health | Community Center | 9000 SW 50th Place | Mondays, August 18 - September 15 | 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM 


Harmonicas for Health will help participants learn how to play the harmonica, which can help improve lung function.

The program will meet each week for two hours for interactive sessions. In this program, participants may:

  • Learn how to have better control of their breathing.
  • Exercise the muscles that help them breathe.
  • Strengthen abdominal muscles for a more effective cough.
  • Boost self-confidence and relieve stress.
  • Socialize with others, have fun, and build relationships.

The Cooper City Fitness Center is located at 11600 Stonebridge Parkway within the Rock Creek community. An individual annual gym membership starts at only $85.60 for seniors (age 62+). An individual annual membership for Cooper City residents, age 15-61, is $139.10.

Vacation Home Watch Program


Did you know the Broward Sheriff's Office Cooper City District has a free Home Watch Program?


With this program, a deputy will check your home regularly while you are away. An exterior check of your home will be conducted to make sure there have been no unlawful entries and that no other obvious problems have occurred outside of your home. To sign up for this FREE service, please sign up online.

My Safe Florida Home


The My Safe Florida Home Program offers eligible home owners the opportunity to make an application for a wind mitigation home inspection free of charge by the State.

Fingerprinting Services


The BSO Cooper City District is now providing complimentary fingerprinting services to Cooper City residents and business owners. Fingerprinting is available by appointment only on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to noon and Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m.

Passport appointments every 15 minutes at City Hall.

What to Do If 911 Does Not Answer:


If a Cooper City resident calls 911 and receives no answer, there's no need to panic. You can call the BSO Cooper City station directly at 954-435-2000. It's worth noting that Cooper City's BSO station is the only BSO district to have a staffed lobby 24/7, 365 days a year.
