Flooding Vulnerability Assessment

Public Outreach Meeting

Cooper City is conducting a Flooding Vulnerability Assessment and seeking input from Cooper City residents.

 

The purpose of this assessment is to determine which critical assets are vulnerable to a variety of flooding events. Please join City staff, along with consultant Hazen and Sawyer, to receive information on this project and to provide your input on the following items:



  1. Critical assets to be considered in the assessment.
  2. Your localized flooding concerns.


The meeting will be held in person this evening, November 14, at 6 PM at City Hall located at 9090 SW 50 Place, Cooper City, FL 33328.

City Commission Regular Meeting

The City Commission will gather on Tuesday, November 19 at 6:30 PM at City Hall. If you are unable to attend in person, you can watch the meeting and participate online via Zoom.

Field Enhancements & Closures

In October, the City Commission approved baseball and softball field renovations at Suellen H. Fardelmann and Bill Lips sports complexes.


Due to the renovation project, the following field closures are necessary:


  • Suellen H. Fardelmann Sports Complex
  • Baseball fields are closed through January 17, 2025


  • Bill Lips Sports Complex
  • Softball Field 4 is closed through January 17, 2025
  • Softball Fields 1-3 closed December 2, 2024 through January 17, 2025


Please note, Fields 1 and 2 (multipurpose fields) are also closed at Bill Lips Sports Complex due to maintenance. The fields are tentatively scheduled to reopen on Monday, November 18.

BSO Cooper City Santa Holiday Program

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!


One of Cooper City’s favorite holiday happenings is on the horizon as Santa prepares to ride on a firetruck and visit boys and girls. The registration process has changed this year. Sign-up will be conducted online via Eventbrite. We will NOT be collecting sign-ups in person at BSO Cooper City Fire Station 28.


Online sign-up will open on Saturday, November 16, at 10 AM on Eventbrite. Santa and his elves will make their visits on Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15.

Holiday Home Decorating Contest


Our Parks and Recreation Department will begin accepting entries for our Holiday Home Decorating Contest on Monday, November 18th. The deadline to enter will be Wednesday, December 11th.

Florida Licensing on Wheels


Florida Licensing on Wheels (FLOW) will visit the Cooper City Community Center on Tuesday, November 19. Appointments are available for the upcoming visit. Call 954-434-4300 ext. 255 to make your appointment. Reservations required. No walk-ins.

Bulk Waste Collection Guidelines Reminder

Bulk waste will be collected next week in Cooper City from November 18-23. Please be mindful of bulk waste collection guidelines, including the limit of 6 cubic yards. Questions? Call Eastern Waste Systems at 954-543-9800.

Fall Garage Sale This Saturday!

Don't miss the opportunity to find a great deal at our Fall Garage Sale on Saturday, November 16th. It will take place at Flamingo West Park located at 6201 S. Flamingo Road. The event runs from 7 AM to 11 AM.

Light Up Cooper City is Coming Up on December 6th!

Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with us as we LIGHT UP Memorial Park with holiday cheer! Make incredible memories with family and friends, while seeing a colorful cast of characters and listening to the sounds of the season. We will also have a holiday bazaar and food available for purchase.

Cookies & Cocoa with Santa

Registration is Now Open

Join the Cooper City Parks and Recreation Department for our annual Cookies and Cocoa with Santa! Enjoy an evening with delicious cookies and cocoa, crafts, pics with Santa, and much more!


Proof of Cooper City residency is required for registration. This event has limited seating and tickets will not be sold at the door.


Cooper City residents can register online or visit the Community Center or Pool and Tennis Center.

Holiday Movie with a TWIST

Registration for Painting Starts November 20th

Bring family and friends to enjoy a Holiday Movie...WITH A TWIST! During the movie, participants will have the option to use their creativity and paint their favorite holiday canvas. Movie viewing is open for all if not interested in the painting portion.


Winners of the 2024 Home Decorating Contest will be announced. 

Menorah Lighting on December 30th!

All are invited to join us as we celebrate the joy of Hanukkah with a Menorah Lighting in Memorial Park. Our Parks and Recreation Department will have activities for children, before and after the lighting ceremony. Light refreshments will also be provided.

The City of Cooper City Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce our 2024/2025 Winter Camp! Camp will be filled with a variety of recreational activities including a field trip, arts and crafts, on-site activity and much more!


Camp Options:


  • Week one from Monday, December 23rd - Friday, December 27th
  • Camp will close at 2 PM on December 24th
  • No camp on December 25th


  • Week two from Monday, December 30th - Friday, January 3rd
  • Camp will close at 2 PM on December 31st
  • No camp on January 1st

 

Unless otherwise noted, camp hours are 8 AM - 6 PM at the Community Center for campers in grades K-8. Registration is now open for Cooper City residents. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Step into a Fitness Routine


The Cooper City Fitness Center is located at the Pool and Tennis Center located at 11600 Stonebridge Parkway within the Rock Creek community. An individual annual gym membership starts at only $85.60 for seniors (age 62+). An individual annual membership for Cooper City residents, age 14-61, is $139.10.

Home Watch Program


Did you know the Broward Sheriff's Office Cooper City District has a free Home Watch Program?


With this program, a deputy will check your home regularly while you are away. An exterior check of your home will be conducted to make sure there have been no unlawful entries and that no other obvious problems have occurred outside of your home. To sign up for this FREE service, please fill out the Home Watch form and visit the BSO Cooper City District Office (10580 Stirling Rd.) to complete registration.

My Safe Florida Home


The My Safe Florida Home Program offers eligible home owners the opportunity to make an application for a wind mitigation home inspection free of charge by the State.

Fingerprinting Services


The BSO Cooper City District is now providing complimentary fingerprinting services to Cooper City residents and business owners. Fingerprinting is available by appointment only on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to noon and Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m.

Passport appointments every 15 minutes at City Hall.

What to Do If 911 Does Not Answer:


If a Cooper City resident calls 911 and receives no answer, there's no need to panic. You can call the BSO Cooper City station directly at 954-435-2000. It's worth noting that Cooper City's BSO station is the only BSO district to have a staffed lobby 24/7, 365 days a year.
