On Palm Sunday, Pastor John delivered a message based on Matthew 21:1-11. He had us look at verse 3 where Jesus gave his disciples words to respond with if anyone asked why they were taking the donkey and her colt - "
If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them..."
(Matthew 21:3)
Pastor asked us to think about what Jesus needs from us. He gave us three things to ponder:
First Jesus needs our Obedience. Hebrews 5:9 says, "
...he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him..."
(Hebrews 5:9)
Second, Jesus needs our Worship. The Psalmist wrote, "Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth." (Psalm 96:8-9)
And finally, Jesus needs us To Be With Him Forever. Before His death Jesus prayed, "
Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world."
(John 17:24)
