Pastor John delivered a message on Sunday based on John 11:17-45 and the story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. In his sermon entitled "Answered Prayer," Pastor reminded us that although God answers our prayers, God does not always answer them in ways we think He should.
In the Gospel story, everyone expected Jesus to perform a healing. Instead, He did the impossible - he raised someone from the dead!
The lesson for us is that Jesus is greater than our expectations of Him. God's plan may not always be the easiest and it might not always make sense at first. But God's plan is always the best plan and it's always for good, and always for His glory.
Pastor encouraged us to not limit our dreams, our hopes and our desires to what simply makes sense to us. God might just have something bigger and better planned for us!

United Methodist Create New Conference in Nigeria

KARIM LAMIDO, Nigeria (UMNS) - United Methodists celebrated the inauguration of the new North East Nigeria Annual Conference this month, with Bishop John Wesley Yohanna, Nigeria Episcopal Area, presiding. The new conference consists of 12 districts, six mission areas, 124,311 professed members and 88 clergy members. Sharon Adamu Bambuka reports.
