Notes to the Parish

Dear Trinity Parishioners,

The Flower Delivery Ministry is in need of volunteers for arranging and delivering. The time commitment is once every 1-3 months for 1-3 hours after the 10:45 service. Please read below to learn about our ministry, and please consider joining us.

The Flower Delivery Ministry is an important part of Pastoral Care at Trinity, as we think and pray for those in need, dealing with trying times, or celebrating a milestone. A gift of flowers from the altar is a symbol of God’s love, and of our love and support for one another.

Each Sunday, three volunteers meet in Tuton Hall after the 10:45 service. One volunteer rearranges flowers from the altar into 4-6 smaller vases. Two volunteers deliver 2-3 arrangements in a specific geographic area, most often in the vicinity of their homes.

Being a part of this ministry gives as much joy to volunteers as it does to recipients. We receive many wonderful well wishes from recipients who are grateful for this small way of showing support.

Please contact us if you are interested in arranging, delivering, or both, or if you know of a parishioner who would benefit from a delivery,

In Christ’s love and service,

Peyton Evert

Who's Doing What?

Clergy Edition

Children’s Chapel at 10:45 A few weeks ago, we made a change to the 10:45 service. If you’ve wondered why one of our clergy now enters the nave partway through the liturgy, here’s the story: that clergy person has been with our children. Each Sunday, a simultaneous Service of the Word—our Children’s Chapel—begins at 10:45 in the Redwood Chapel for children age 3 through fifth grade. While the rest of the congregation gathers in the nave, our young people experience an age-appropriate, Godly Play–style beginning to the very same Eucharist: the opening, prayers, the Creed, the Gospel reading and song, and some response time to reflect on what they’ve heard. Our older children help lead, and one of the assisting clergy for the day leads the service.

At the Peace, the children and their clergy leader come into the nave to join their families for the rest of the Eucharist. So when you see our clergy arrive with a procession of young people, you’ll know exactly where they’ve been, and what they’ve been up to. We’re grateful to offer our children a liturgy shaped for them, within the one worship of the whole parish.

Formation

Adult Forum (Undercroft):

The Celtic Saints | November 1 - 22

with the Rev. Dr. R. Scott White

Long before the Reformation, a distinctive Christianity flourished at the edges of the known world. In this class, we'll trace the life of the Celtic Church—how it took root, how it unfolded across centuries, and how it eventually merged with Roman Christianity. We'll pay special attention to the Celtic Saints of Ireland, whose stories still stir the imagination: Patrick, Kevin, Brigid, Columba, and more. The class also prepares us for the next Trinity Pilgrimage, a journey to Ireland to walk the holy ground these saints walked. Come discover a faith both ancient and surprisingly close at hand.

Parents in Conversation (Clark Room): an informal gathering of parents, grandparents, and anyone else interested to discuss life, God, and parenting.

The Gift Giving Card Tree Pick up an ornament to help two local organizations: Youth Villages, which helps children with emotional and behavioral problems and provides a bridge for kids coming out of foster care. Additionally, Caring for Children, which helps, is an organization offering diverse programs and services that meet the needs of over 500 children and families annually. This time of year, they request urgent donations: $25 gift cards for Walmart or Target, or $25 Amazon gift cards.
