Dear Trinity Family,
As I think back on my 19 years here, I realize how much this place feels like home. My work as sexton gives me a front-row seat to all the ways this church comes alive—from the quiet mornings before a service to the big events that fill the building with laughter, music, and prayer. Most days, my duties include setting up and breaking down for funerals, weddings, concerts, and parties, and doing my best to keep the church clean and ready for whatever comes next.
I take a lot of pride in helping things run smoothly, even when no one notices. Whether it’s making sure the chairs are lined up just right, or setting out tables for a reception, I see each task as part of the ministry of hospitality. Over the years, I’ve learned that care for the space helps make room for the Spirit to move among us.
It's a joy to be a part of something that makes people smile, to be able to assist when needed, and to feel the love that is generated through church gatherings and services. That’s truly how I feel about what I do. Trinity has given me a community of people who care deeply for one another, and it’s a blessing to be part of that. I’m grateful every day for the chance to keep doing this work.
Thank you for the kindness, the conversations, and the laughter along the way. It’s a gift to serve here, and I’m grateful for the chance to support the life and ministry of this church we all love. I look forward to continuing to work together and share in all that God has in store for Trinity.
With appreciation,

Changes in Sunday Worship During Lent
You will notice that our worship services during Lent differ from our ordinary worship. Worship changes to reflect the solemn nature of the season so that we may reflect on our relationship with God in light of our imperfections–sin. The season’s color is violet, flowers do not appear on the altar, the tone of our music is more subdued, and we refrain from using the word “Alleluia.” These changes help us focus on the season and will be “lifted” on Easter morning.

The Lenten Journey at Trinity
Lent begins with a bold claim about God: “You hate nothing you have made.”
On Ash Wednesday, we don’t come to perform sorrow, but to practice honesty. We name the habits, omissions, and sharp edges that have harmed others and bent our lives away from love—and we lay them before the God of all mercy, not to be shamed, but to be forgiven.
Lent is God’s renewing work in us: creating “new and contrite hearts,” soft enough to receive grace and strong enough to make amends. As we pray, fast, give, and worship together this season, may Christ heal what is broken and send us out lighter and more ready to serve.
We invite you to journey through Lent with Trinity. Explore our services, studies, and practices—and get a preview of Easter—click here.
