A Note from Rev. Amy
Dear Church,
Everyone deserves a place to call home,
and everyone can help make that possible for another family.
That’s the vision of Asheville Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit Trinity has partnered with for over thirty years. In August, we begin work on Episcopal House XVI, which will be home for Sergio, Mayra and their three children.
After twenty years in Asheville and multiple moves from rental to rental, Sergio and Mayra began to despair of ever being able to put down roots, and wrote to Habitat: “We are certain that with Habitat’s help, we can break a cycle and give our children the security and safety of having their own home.” Now they’re partnering with Habitat, and so are we – because they deserve a place to call home, and we can help.
You don’t have to know anything about construction to sign up – you’ll receive training. Most days last from 8:15-3:00, with several breaks. To find a slot you can fill, sign up on the registration page (or recruit a couple of friends and sign up together!).

This Sunday, we welcome our chancel choir back to worship at the 10:00 AM service after their annual summer hiatus. Our choir is open to all, and no musical experience is required to join! If you are interested in joining, try singing with us for a Sunday in August by meeting at 9:30 AM on Sunday morning. At the end of August, the choir will resume regular Wednesday evening rehearsals.

Red Bag Sunday
This Sunday, August 3, is Red Bag Sunday. Pick up your bags at any of the services and return them the following week with any of the following items for school children in Graham County. Our own Appalachian Regional Ministry will deliver them as part of the area’s “School Drive.” Bags will have one of two lists of items attached to them. These will be distributed to the local children at their annual “Back to School Bash.”

You don’t need teaching experience or a theology degree, and training is provided. We’ll walk with you every step of the way. I promise, you’ll learn and grow too. Reach out to Nanette Popa at nanette@trinityasheville.org

Being Good Stewards
We are working diligently to be good stewards of our resources by reducing the amount of paper and printing needed for our Sunday materials. Worship services may be followed in the Book of Common Prayer (the red book in the pew) and the Hymnal (the blue book in the pew). Hymns that begin with “S” are in the front of the book.
