BPA Recruiting: We need to fill our board positions and one-time or low commitment helpers for the Ballard Performing Arts Boosters Club next year. Please consider joining us. It is satisfying work (I help every week on this newsletter and it's great) Jobs Available + Board Positions

Give BIG + Mattress Fundraisers: Looking ahead we still have two easy ways to help us raise funds for the arts at Ballard High. May 8th is "Give BIG" and our mattress fundraiser is June 1st.

Jazz Combo Night Tomorrow: April 24th at 7:30pm in the PAC come enjoy our Jazz Combos comprised of Jazz I and II students. These student-led small groups have worked together over the last few weeks to perform a variety of jazz styles including standards and contemporary in various arrangements. Bake sale items available in the lobby.

Final Vancouver Trip Details:
  • Trip Info Night is May 14th at 7:30 pm in the Performing Arts Center. This is a mandatory meeting for participating students and their parents/guardians.
  • Trip fees are Late. Please pay HERE.
  • Students need their Birth Certificate and a Passport/Enhanced ID/Photo ID to cross the border into Canada. Please look for and find these before the trip.

Vocal Jazz + Jazz Alley: Vocal Jazz, Jazz 1 and Jazz 2 will be performing at Jazz Alley on May 26th. Come enjoy dinner before the show. 

  • Tickets are available now for $26. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. No tickets are sold at the door, so get them ahead of this packed performance. Purchase Tickets

Spring Concert: Reserved seating is available for a donation for our Spring Concert on May 30th. Get a great seat HERE.
Spring Concert Concerto: Our annual tradition continues with the concerto portion of the Spring Orchestra Concert on June 5th. This concert highlights 3 students as soloists in their chosen piece of music. The students selected to performs are:
  • Malia Murphy Vivaldi Piccolo Concerto in D-Major – Movement 2, 3 
  • Anika Anderson Khachaturian Violin Concerto in C-Major – Movement 3 
  • Charlie Burns Haydn Piano Concerto in D-Major – Movement 1 

If you are a member of the wind or percussion for these pieces you need to attend the mandatory rehearsal. See rehearsal schedule HERE .

'19/'20 Audition Update: Auditions for the 2019/20 school year will be June 17th in class and June 18th and 19th after school. More info and music selections will posted on the BPA website.
