A Learning Journey: A Firsthand Look at Fire Safety | |
To mark Fire Prevention Month, people receiving supports had the opportunity to take part in hands-on Fire Prevention and Emergency Preparedness training with Essex Fire and Rescue as part of A Learning Journey. They got practical experience spotting fire hazards, using extinguishers, reviewing emergency plans, and learning how to stay calm and communicate during emergencies.
A Learning Journey is an initiative that revisits Mandatory Awareness Training topics — including personal rights, safety, abuse prevention, and our agency’s vision and mission — giving employees the tools to educate and support the people they serve.
Through accessible training, interactive discussions, and ongoing feedback, we’re committed to fostering a safer, more inclusive, and empowered community for all.
