Getting in the Holiday Spirit!
The holidays are just around the corner, and last week John visited Colasanti's Tropical Gardens to check out their festive holiday displays! What a fun way to get in the holiday spirit!
Sensory Friendly Santa Magic
With the approaching holiday season we are bombarded by ever changing sounds, lights and smells.

For our special needs children and adults, these experiences and sensations may be unwanted changes.

If your family member is disturbed by the sights, sounds and smells of the holiday season; reduce everyone’s stress levels by letting teachers, support workers, family and friends know the impact the season has on your loved one.

Below you will find a link that may provide everyone with a memorable experience.

Enjoy the magic of the season with minimal anxiety!

Hand Signal Used By Missing Teen Developed In Canada To Address Pandemic Violence
A simple hand gesture: displaying an open palm with the thumb tucked in, and then closing your fingers over the thumb, trapping it in.

This signal, popularized on TikTok, has the power to communicate that the person making the gesture is in need of help, something that came in handy earlier this month when it led to the rescue of a missing 16-year-old girl after a motorist in Kentucky noticed the teen making the signal at passing drivers.

The “Signal for Help” did not originate on TikTok. It was initially developed by the Canadian Women’s Foundation in April 2020 to tackle the spectre of domestic violence, which the organization knew would be even more dangerous during the isolation of the pandemic.
