Sun, Moon, and Magic

Parts of Essex County were lucky enough to be in the path of totality for Monday's solar eclipse. As the moon’s shadow moved across the Earth, people supported by Community Living Essex County and many employees took the opportunity to step outside to see this amazing event. Together, they looked up in wonder as the event unfolded, reminding us of our tiny place in the vast universe.

Thank You for Helping us Raise $12,000!

We are so excited to announce that our Giving Tuesday fundraising campaign raised $12,000, thanks to all of our generous donors and our matching partner, Libro Credit Union! All proceeds from this fundraiser were used to purchase smart support technology devices for people receiving supports from Community Living Essex County. We were able to purchase many iPads, a laptop, an app, an Amazon Echo device and even a PlayStation! These devices help people we support develop skills, increase their independence, take part in virtual supports, and stay connected with friends and family. Our 2023 Giving Tuesday campaign kicked off on November 28, 2023 and ran through until the end of December. Through individual donations, and a series of fundraising events, including a pasta dinner fundraiser at Vern's in Kingsville, we were able to raise $6000. Representatives from Libro Credit Union stopped by our office last week to present us with their $6000 matching donation.

Let the Sun Shine In

What better way to capture the spring sunlight than with handcrafted stained glass creations!

Ensemble’s unpaid caregivers recently experienced the art of stained glass. They learned new terminology and techniques under the expert eyes of Liz; resulting in the creation of beautiful stained glass art.

Participating in an artistic workshop away from family responsibilities, in the company of others with shared experiences; our mothers got to meet new people and to share valuable insights. The possibility of establishing meaningful connections was an added bonus. Families gain so much by connecting.

Ensemble will continue to listen to families and attempt to create opportunities for families to meet, socialize and support one another. Don’t hesitate to let your voice be heard. Ensemble is here to listen and to work with families. We only know what your interests are if you tell us. 😊

Hopefully future meetups will help you to find connections that will make your day to day lives less stressful and more complete. You may even have FUN!

Happy April days! 🌼
