New Day has had a very busy summer! In August, New Day attended the Staying Connected Network Meeting. Special guest, Hot Topics, a self-advocacy group from Australia, was there to help prepare for International Day of Persons with Disabilities, December 3rd.
New Day members that are on the Speaking Out Committee attended the Mini Golf Tournament in London on August 12th. They had a great time and enjoyed the lunch and prizes!
On August 16th, special guest Charlotte's Freedom Farm was at our meeting. Everyone enjoyed their presentation. They talked about the animals on the farm and how some of them have assistive devices which help them with walking, such as wheelchairs, nubs and braces. Everyone was very interested and hope to visit the farm in the future. New Day made a $100 donation to Charlotte's Freedom Farm, which will help to provide food for the animals.
We are currently working on designing our new logo for New Day t-shirts. Watch for updates so you can order yours.
