June 27th Miracle Day A Big Success!
Sunday June 27th was Miracle Day, and we joined in with our neighbours across Essex County in leaving non-perishable food and personal items on our porches!
Thank you to all of the organizers and volunteers for helping those in need in our community! With more than 150,000 lbs. reported at only 1 of close to 40 drop off centres throughout Windsor-Essex - no doubt a Miracle happened last Sunday!

Working Towards Independence
“Independence is Happiness”
Susan B. Anthony
As we grow up and mature, we crave independence and the ability to direct our own lives. For most of us, this is a natural process of growing up and entering adulthood. However, for our loved ones with a developmental disability, independence does not always occur quickly. As family members, we want to support our loved ones to live as independently as possible with the right supports, but we are unsure how to proceed.
Eric Goll of Empowering Ability is offering a free workshop on July 7th on independence and the steps involved in helping our loved ones achieve this goal for themselves. Click the link below to register.

Canadian Heritage is putting together a two-hour program for the country’s birthday that will feature Canadian artists and artisans and a virtual fireworks display set to start at 10 p.m. local time on July 1.
The unique display will allow Canadians across the country to point their smart phones or tablets at the sky and take in a 3D fireworks show at that time.
In addition to television broadcasts, the Canada Day event — from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET — will be streamed on Canadian Heritage’s YouTube channel, which will also air exclusive behind-the-scenes video clips during commercial breaks.
