The eight-day Jewish celebration known as Hanukkah begins on the 25th of Kislev on the Hebrew calendar and usually falls in November or December. Often called the Festival of Lights, the holiday is celebrated with the lighting of the menorah, traditional foods, games and gifts.

Getting Ready For The Holiday Season
|
|
Cassie Ron and Andrew have been having a great time preparing for the holiday season! Last week, Cassie and her support staff put their crafting skills to work and made a beautiful decorative holiday planter for Cassie's front porch. Ron had some fun with the Christmas lights while putting up the Christmas tree at his house! Andrew painted and baked some beautiful homemade Christmas ornaments. Christmas is less than a month away, so if you haven't started decorating, this weekend is the perfect time.

Trust In The Goodness Of Others
|
|
Embrace the diverse communities we as Canadians have been given the privilege to live in; filled with a mix of race, religion, gender, language and ability.
We as family are often the eyes, ears and/or voices of our children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
As humans, we have a need to help and care for others. Without knowledge, uncertainty and fear of the unknown dominate our thoughts.
Believe in the goodness of others and educate whenever possible. We are in this together —ENSEMBLE.
Help everyone celebrate this giving season by giving others the gift of knowledge. We all benefit when hearts and minds are opened.
Wishing you festive days ahead!
