Ensemble continues to reach out to families, and in recognition of unpaid family caregivers, we will be announcing our next FREE event. What better way to socialize with families who share similar life experiences? — Not in a formal setting, but rather in a creative space where you get to explore your inner artist. 👩‍🎨 So much of our time and energy is dedicated to assisting others that we neglect to take care of ourselves! Without creative outlets for ourselves, we lack the positive drive needed to embrace our life circumstances with determination and resilience.

Consider the unique, creative FREE activities Ensemble will offer to the unpaid caregivers of intellectually disabled adults living at home. Our November event will be announced shortly. Create, socialize, and leave with a beautiful holiday showpiece!
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Sustainable Fall Living
Winter is Coming
The cooler temperatures are just around the corner, and there are some eco-friendly things you can do to get ready. Winter preparations do not have to be all at once, and they surely don't need to be difficult. Here are some tips to help you embrace the chill and reduce your impact on the environment at the same time!

Preserve Your Garden Goodies:
  • Before frost hits, save your garden harvest by canning. It keeps you supplied with fresh produce when it can't be grown locally, reducing the need for shipped-in, carbon-intensive food.

Check Your Tires:
  • Cooler temperatures can make tires lose pressure, which hurts your car's fuel efficiency. Regularly inflate and rotate your tires to save money and reduce waste.

Clean and Test Your Furnace:
  • Maintain your furnace by cleaning it and replacing the filter. This keeps it running well, saving energy and preventing potential hazards.

Bring In Houseplants:
  • Move your outdoor plants inside before it gets too cold. Houseplants beautify your home and improve air quality, especially in winter when windows are kept closed.

Do Some Yard Work:
  • Prepare your yard for winter by using fallen leaves as mulch or add them to your compost. Plant spring bulbs, perennials, trees, and shrubs now to reduce water use in spring.
