Today I'm Gonna Try To Change The World
|
|
After a year filled with uncertainties, let’s approach 2022 with new found positive energy.
For me, music has been a great source of inspiration filled with nostalgia both past and present. While driving the other day and listening to a CD of Johnny Reid, I was moved by a song on his album 'A Place Called Love'.
'Today I’m Gonna Try To Change The World' will be the foundation around which I will build my life in 2022.
Access the link on YouTube below and see if these lyrics will give you the positive energy and hope needed to face each of your challenges ahead.

Alhambra Donates $8000 to
Community Living Essex County!
|
|
Sadly, the Alhambra Garcia Caravan Chapter 230 (Essex County) has made the difficult decision to disband in late 2021 after 39 years of service to our community. One of their last gifts of kindness was to donate $8000 to Community Living Essex County. Pictured above are Alhambra members Ton Specht, Mike Specht (Past Grand Commander) Therese Barichello (Grand Commander) and Karen Bolger, our Executive Director receiving the donation on behalf of the agency. We would like to thank the Alhambra for their tireless support of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Essex County over the years.
Many of the people we support have enjoyed and appreciated the generosity of Alhambra Chapter 230. Countless people were fortunate to enjoy the Christmas parties, the summer picnics and the annual boat rides organized and sponsored by the Alhambra. We certainly appreciate and value the contributions of the members to enhance the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities in our community. Additionally, the Alhambra has also donated and sponsored many worthy causes that have made an impact on so many people in our community over the last 39 years. They have assisted both individuals and communities through purchasing assistive devices (wheelchairs), ramps, vehicle modifications, accessible driveways, sidewalks public restrooms, sponsoring recreation (bowling leagues), and so much more.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Alhambra Garcia Caravan #230 and their members for all they have done over the years to make the lives of people with disabilities in our community better!

Bundle up and get outside. There is so much to do in Windsor Essex this winter.
While most of Windsor Essex is pretty flat, you can get an intense cardio workout with a well-deserved scenic view at the end when you climb the hill at Malden Park. This 175-acre park is a great spot for tobogganing, hiking, fat tire biking or taking your dog to meet some new friends at the onsite dog park.
