Mother's Day

Share your personal "mother figure" with us! For Mother's Day, we'd like you to submit a picture of whom you see as a "mother figure" in your life. These will be shared during Mother's Day Sunday worship service in a slideshow. Be sure to identify the "mother" in the picture with their name, as well as your name. Leave pictures on the office desk or email them to Ginger in the office by Tuesday, May 7. If you'd like the picture back, please indicate so. Questions? Lavon Geasland or Martha Olsen.

Strengthen the Church Collection and Our 5 for 5 Certificate

McFarland UCC is a 5 for 5 church! Being 5 for 5 means that we are a leader, providing support to Our Church's Wider Missions and the five Special Mission Offerings Collections, one of which is Strengthen The Church. The Strengthen the Church collection happens on Pentecost, which is May 19.

The Strengthen the Church Offering supports congregations and initiatives that help us live into the United Church of Christ's "big tent" vision. Funds raised support leadership development, new churches, youth ministry, and renewal initiatives in existing congregations. Your conference and the national ministries work together to use these funds for projects that matter now and for the future of our movement.

Through this offering, we further our commitment to being a multi-racial/multi-cultural church that is accessible to all.

Sound Bath - Chakra Balance and Affirmations

Sunday, May 19 1-3 pm in Multipurpose Room

Araceli Wehr has a connection with Karen Jedele and helped coordinate this opportunity.

What is a Sound Bath?

A sound bath is a meditative experience where participants lie down or sit comfortably while sounds and vibrations from various instruments are played. These instruments can include singing bowls, gongs, chimes, drums, and other harmonic tools. The term "bath" implies that the participants are immersed in the sounds, allowing the vibrations to wash over them, promoting relaxation, stress reduction, and sometimes even spiritual or emotional healing. The intention is to create a therapeutic environment where individuals can let go of tension, quiet the mind, and enter a state of deep relaxation or meditation.

Community Garden Sign

The sign pictured here was put in place by the village of McFarland to commemorate the Community Gardens located on our property, near the lower edge of the open field. Special thanks go out to Mike Flaherty for noticing that the village hadn’t recognized that the gardens were the result of a collaborative partnership between the village and our church; Mike worked to have the acknowledgment of that partnership added!
