Ketanji Brown Jackson has officially been sworn in as the first Black woman on the Supreme Court. Jackson, a Miami native and Harvard graduate, was confirmed to the Supreme Court of the United States back in April when the Senate voted 53 to 47 on her nomination. The day following her historic confirmation, she said this hopeful statement at a White House celebration held in her honor. Read more.
Laura Wooten was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina on December 19, 1920. Coming up during the women’s voting rights movement, she took to civic duty early, moving to Princeton, New Jersey as a young child and beginning as a volunteer at the election polls just after graduating high school in 1939. Princeton University is now renaming a campus building in honor of Wooten, the longest-serving U.S. election poll worker.  Read more.
The Phoenix Suns have named Morgan Cato as Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Basketball Operations. Cato, who graduated from Stony Brook University and Harvard Business School's Executive track, has worked in the NBA league office for the past ten years. Her most recent role was Associate Vice President of Business Operations for NBA League Operations, where she was a vital member of the executive team who focused on strategic basketball planning to advance the game.  Read more.
