The mission of the North Lewisburg United Methodist Church Food Agency is to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the community and the surrounding areas. They believe this is accomplished as we join together in community sharing our God given time, talents and resources to make a difference in the lives of others. In partnership with the Second Harvest Food Bank in offering compassion to those suffering from food insecurities in North Lewisburg and surrounding areas of Champaign County, OH.
North Lewisburg Food Agency provides food services including a food pantry and hot meal service on Wednesday nights. The food pantry is
distributed the 2nd Thursday of each month. Food dispersed includes
a four day supply of nutritionally balanced non-perishable and perishable food, and fresh produce from yard gardeners and local farmers as seasonally available. Wednesday Suppers offer a
free,
home-style cooked meal to the community weekly at the North Lewisburg United Methodist Church.
Participants may gather at tables to enjoy their meal or to take home meals. Wednesday Suppers
can also be delivered to home bound elderly when needed.
North Lewisburg United Methodist Church has had long term aspirations to improve the quality of life overall for those experiencing short or long term food insecurities, as well as other issues related to poverty or shortage of income. Most importantly, to improve the overall quality of life and potential for life of those who are experiencing the many issues related to poverty. This program has been instrumental in building trust and has been influential in inspiring members of our community to collaborative in ways to improving the experience of life in North Lewisburg. Many have expressed how much this program has helped them, and many partners have joined in North Lewisburg continue this service.
