Madison County Public Health is committed to monitoring and responding to our community’s health and wellness needs through innovative services, education, collaboration and compassionate care. Protecting the residents of Madison County through their services including but not limited to immunizations, dental, and pregnancy testing.

Immunizations protect residents from deadly diseases, keeps the cost of health care down and the incidence of disease low. Vaccines are very costly and those that are not covered by insurance or the deductibles are very high benefit greatly from this program. The Madison County Needs Assessment shows that access to dental health care remains to be a problem. Dental health is pertinent to the overall health status of a person. Being able to access emergency dental extractions helps to avoid harmful systemic infections, and relieve pain.

Free pregnancy testing is only offered at Madison County Public Health. Identifying a woman is pregnant allows her to begin early prenatal care, better protecting mom and baby. Prenatal care can help prevent complications and inform women about important steps they can take to protect their infant and ensure a healthy pregnancy. Free pregnancy testing is available on a walk-in basis, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm. No appointments are necessary. Dedicated public health nurses provide resources including free prenatal vitamins, a referral to an OBGYN, and a connection to specialist for Medicaid or other health insurances right here in Madison County. Early prenatal care is the key to a healthy pregnancy and a healthy child.

Madison County Public Health providing preventative care to the uninsured and under-insured allows these individuals to receive care they would not otherwise have received, and can improve the health a person and the community. Immunization Clinics
Please contact the Madison County Public Health if your child needs vaccinations. Immunization clinics are held all day on Tuesdays and afternoons on Thursday.
