A Message from the Rector

The Rev. Doug Peterson Going on Assignment:

One of the things our Lord is constantly up to, is calling us into deeper ministry (Isaiah 6)! This is regardless of our age, stage or even preparation. To that end, one of our own, The Rev. Doug Peterson has been called to a short term assignment to pastorally and liturgically assist at Old St. Andrews Church in West Ashley. Their Rector, the Rev. Marshall Huey is in need of some short term help and Doug has said yes! Doug has been our chief 8am celebrant for many years, and while we will miss Doug, he won’t be that far away! Doug’s last Sunday is January 19 and his first Sunday at Old St. Andrews is January 26. Please join me in celebrating Doug’s ministry!

This Sunday is

A Special Message from the Anglican Relief and Development Fund:

Prayer Request for Southern California

On January 7, 2025, wildfires started burning around Los Angeles and in its neighboring communities. They have had a devastating effect, with entire communities destroyed and thousands of people displaced. ARDF is in contact with churches in affected communities. Stay tuned for more specific ways to help.

Please pray with us...

Almighty God, by your Word you laid the foundations of the earth, set the bounds of the sea, and still the wind and waves. Surround those affected by the wildfires in Southern California with your grace and peace, and preserve them through these winds and fires. By your Spirit, lift up those who have fallen, strengthen those who work to rescue or rebuild, and fill us with the hope of your new creation; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. Adapted from the collect In Times of Natural Disaster, BCP 2019

St. Michael’s Anglican Church

“Born by Water and the Spirit”

For two thousand years and counting, people have marked the beginning of their life in Christ with Baptism, and that is certainly true at St. Michael’s Anglican Church. Baptism is open to anyone who wants to follow Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. This includes adults as well as children.

We are so glad that you are considering baptism for yourself or your child. It is our greatest joy in the church to welcome a new member into the family of God. Our prayer is that through this sacrament you will experience the power and love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Before you begin your journey towards baptism, you might have a few questions. We hope we can answer most of them here so that your experience is as joyful as possible.

For more information, please contact Dee Goehring. To register, follow the link below.
