A Message From the Rector

Dear St. Michaelites and Friends:

On Thursday October 30, your Vestry voted to approve something called The Daniel Declaration: A Call to Mission, A Place to Stand. The Daniel Declaration was written by the American Anglican Council to address some of the critical issues of our day. The vote came after a month of study. What is the Daniel Declaration? You can read it here.

The specific contemporary issues that the Declaration covers beyond our Statement of Faith (which focuses primarily on marriage) include specifically the critical issue of Sanctity of Life, gender differentiation, the Uniqueness of Christ as well as the relationship between church and state. These issues are at the heart of what many in our congregation are concerned about, in fact, it’s why some have joined our church. So please read it and if you have questions, don’t hesitate to talk to the Rev. Greg Smith and me. I’m so proud of our vestry that unanimously approved this declaration!

Blessings in Christ!
