A Message From The Rector


Brent Dickman Begins Service as the Church’s New CFO!


St. Michael’s Church is pleased to announce that Brent Dickman, a financial leader with 30 years of resource planning, financial analysis, and risk management will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer. Brent has served in a similar role at several universities, non-profits and a church. The institutions he served experienced construction and renovation projects during his tenure, and he served as project coordinator to make sure projects were on time and within budget.


In addition to his part-time role as St. Michael’s CFO, Brent will be teaching two courses in finance at the College of Charleston.


Brent’s first day is Monday, Jan. 12. Please join us in welcoming him!

GIC 2026 BANQUET SPEAKER


Jack Easterby is a Columbia, SC native and a graduate of Newberry College. He served as the team chaplain for the @chiefs from 2011-2012 and as the Director of Team Development and Character Coach for the @patriots, where he was a part of winning Super Bowls 49, 51, and 53. Most recently Jack oversaw the reset of the @houstontexans as their Executive VP of Football Operations from 2019-2022. He has also served as a consultant for multiple NBA teams and Olympic teams and has mentored numerous PGA tour players on their journeys. Jack and his wife, Holly, have two daughters; they currently live in Charlotte, NC.

Last Sunday, December 14th was the 60th Annual Christmas Pageant.

Since 1965, the pageant has been a cherished tradition at St. Michaels. Dee Goehring was the director and many children, youth, young adults and parents participated. It was a heartwarming celebration of the real meaning of Christmas!

Family Discipleship Class

The Family Discipleship Class will resume on Wednesday evenings, with Dee and Alan Goehring facilitating the sessions. The class will focus on the book by

"Habits of the Household". They will be meeting in the Buyck Chapel from 6:30-7:30 pm.

Healing Prayer Workshop

A Healing Prayer Workshop will begin on Wednesday, January 7th, led by the Rev. Dr. Martha Toney. The class will be an introduction to Healing Prayer an will be studying the book "The Practice of the Presence of God" by Brother Lawrence. Books will be available for purchase for $5. They will be meeting in the Kinloch Room from

6:30-7:30 pm.

Christmas Caroling in the Neighborhood

St. Michaelites gathered for an evening of festive Christmas cheer as they strolled through the neighborhoods surrounding St. Michaels singing Christmas carols. The evening started with a chili dinner in the Kinloch Room and ended with hot cocoa and cookies in the Narthex. It was a wonderful, joy filled evening and the weather couldn't have been more perfect!
