Last Sunday (and the one before)
Sunday, January 5, The Magi Star followed your children home

Has the household been cleaner lately? Are the kids bringing you your morning coffee before you have a chance to head downstairs? What is bringing on the flurry of kind activity? And where did this paper star come from?

On Sunday, January 5 our Kids Club and Jr. Youth k ids went home with one Magi Star per household. The game is as follows:

The family member (Magus) who has the star does an act of kindness for another family member in secret, then sneaks the star on to that person’s pillow so that they can be the next magus. How long can you keep the Magi Star going around the family?
Sunday, January 12, we talked baptism

This past Sunday was the Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord and the 9:15 message and both Kids Club and Jr. Youth focused on this story. Ask your children what they remember about the Bible story, or our font and stained glass window. Then, if they are baptized, take a moment to reflect on each child's baptism day with them or as a family.
  • When and where did it happen?
  • Who was there?
  • Who are their godparents or sponsors?
  • When was the last time they talked to those godparents or sponsors about their faith? (If it has been a while, maybe it is time to check in!)
  • If you have them handy - show some photographs.

IDEA: Make a note on your calendar of each child's baptism day. Have a special acknowledgement on that day - maybe a card, a special prayer, or a phone call with a godparent or sponsor. Remember, your baptism day is your RE-birthday!

Also: If your child(ren) are not yet baptized, and you'd like to learn more about that possibility, please contact Father Ted.
This Sunday
On Sunday, January 19 we'll talk about who we follow
10:00 a.m. in Trinity House - Kindergarten through 8th grades

This weekend's lesson for both Kids Club and Jr. Youth is from John 1:29-42 (Spark Story Bible page 246). In this story, Andrew and his brother Simon leave John to follow Jesus. Simon is also given a new name. Does that sound familiar???

Middle School youth will meet with Amy Caruso to begin a new discussion series on faith in life.
Adult Classroom Help Wanted!
We need YOU to join the Kids Club and Jr. Youth rooms!

A new year brings a renewal of our commitment to our kids. When kids are baptized we promise, as a church, to assist in raising them in the faith. Safe Church policies also require two adults to be present with children of the church.

Kids Club and Jr. Youth each need a second adult to assist in the classroom each week. Jean Arnold and Natalee Hill have lessons plans in hand, but another active helper each week with Kids Club, and another person to be with the Jr. Youth are much needed. We are happy to create a rotation list. The kids are full of energy, excitement, curiosity, and unexpected insight. You'll love being a part of our team!

Please contact Natalee Hill for more information.
