Trinity Episcopal Church
Bend, Oregon
| | The Sunday's Bulletins and livestream links are near the bottom of the email! | | The February Trumpet is ready – scroll down to see what’s new this month! | | Adult Forum: The Ten Commandments: Laws of the Heart – For the coming months, gather in Brooks Hall at 9:00 AM for conversations on "The Ten Commandments." (Due to time-constraints, we will try to start no later than 9:05 AM.) Elizabeth WJ+ will facilitate this video and discussion series in which “Joan Chittister, OSB offers an honest and refreshing approach to the Ten Commandments… She invites us to think deeply about the moral fibers of our society and presents the idea that the Ten Commandments are an adventure in human growth – that we are not so much convicted by them as we are transformed by them.” | | |

February is Black History: This is a time when we pause to reflect on the central role of African Americans in U.S. history, acknowledging their struggles, achievements, and contributions across various fields, including politics, science, culture and civil rights. Setting aside this month aims to educate the public about the rich history and culture of African Americans. This would be an ideal time for those of us in Central Oregon to search out and participate in local events that honor and inform us about our African American Neighbors.

Sunday, March 1 at 9 AM
Bishop Pat’s Final Visitation at Trinity:
With a last-minute change in plans, Bishop Pat will make his final visit to us here at Trinity on Sunday, March 1 at ONE, combined service at 9 AM followed by a festive Farewell reception and photo ops with the Bishop.
Even being the First Sunday in Lent, we will offer Baptism, Confirmation, Reception and Reaffirmation of Baptismal Vows, should any so desire. We don’t have time for a full-blown class. However, if you desire Baptism for your child or yourself or would like to engage in any of the other sacramental rites associated with Baptism mentioned above, I am open to having one-on-one sessions or even a small group class to delve, however briefly, into the Book of Common Prayer and the ins and outs of the Episcopal Church. (Note: We do not know when our next Bishop’s Visit may be. So, now is a good time for the laying on of hands, to get your name in the church rolls and to take a new step on your spiritual journey.) Interested or curious? Contact Elizabeth WJ+ as soon as possible.
| | Did you know Trinity has a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Closet? It’s stocked with items like walkers, wheelchairs, and bathroom safety equipment available for anyone who needs them. Our DME Closet has three shower benches/chairs in inventory, however our records show that only one is currently signed out. If you happen to have one of these items, please contact Connie McCracken. | | |
Land Acknowledgment: Trinity Episcopal Church acknowledges that we gather on the ancestral homelands of the Paiute, Wasq'u (Wasco) and Tana'nma (Warm Springs) people, who are still here, and we honor with gratitude the land itself and the life of all the tribes who dwelled on this land.
