Trinity Episcopal Church

The Sunday's Bulletins and livestream links are near the bottom of the email!

To aid you as we journey into a Holy Lent, here are some links for daily devotionals, studies and prayerful practices:

The Hardest Part by Kate Bowler and The Everything Happens Project (https://katebowler.com/seasonal_devotional/the-hardest-part/) Download this daily devotional for reflections, questions and blessings that “embrace Lent as it is - raw, honest, and tender.” If folks are interested, Elizabeth WJ+ is open to hosting a group discussion of The Hardest Part on Thursdays at 12:45 PM following the noon Eucharist. Hybrid/ZOOM option is available, if needed. To sign up: Contact EWJ+ today!

Lent Madness (lentmadness.org) is a thought-provoking, engagement with 32 Saints across the ages. It is arranged as a light, competition amongst the Saints to see who receives the “Golden Halo.”

Lenten Resources via United Thank Offering (UTO): 40 Days of Welcome and Gratitude (https://unitedthankoffering.com/Lent//) is a call to give thanks for the ways we experience welcome/hospitality, in our homes, communities, and through the ways we care for ourselves and our stories. Our hope is that during the 40 days of Lent, we can all use gratitude to help us be more welcoming in the world around us. Click the link above for more info on how to access daily text messages, printable calendars for adults AND children, and printable prayers. Click here to register for an online UTO & EMM Lenten book group studying: The Ungrateful Refugee - https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJwpduyrqTwuGNCL0ONC5gyDQMwKR31djRSd#/registration

Adult Forum - A Journey Thru the Catechism

Beginning March 9 - 9 AM, Brooks Hall

Much like an Inquirer’s or Confirmation Class, we are offering “A Journey thru the Catechism” for all who were recently confirmed or received and all who want to refresh and dig more deeply into what it means to walk along the Way in and through the Episcopal Church. We will explore the History of the Judeo-Christian tradition, the development of the Anglican and Episcopal Churches, the way we read Holy Scripture, the ins and outs of the Book of Common Prayer and various aspects of the church, our Anglican tradition and this holy journey. Classes will begin on March 9th and continue through March and much of April. Watch weekly announcements for more details. Contact: Elizabeth WJ+.

Making A Difference With Love

How can we help in these challenging times?

Sunday, March 9 from 2 to 4 pm Brooks Hall

Many of us are struggling with how to respond in a climate where marginalized groups in our community and across the nation are being targeted and threatened. We want to be allies, but we often don’t know where to begin. Join members of the LOV group, with Elizabeth and other community clergy, as we learn, share, and explore the role of the church and individuals in supporting our neighbors. All voices are welcome!

An invitation to Cursillo!

Grab a cup of coffee and come on in!

WEDNESDAYS IN LENT: “Telling our Story: Where have we been & Where do we go from here?” As my friend the Rt. Rev. Kee Sloan wrote: "Every time I learn this, the truer it gets: We can only live our lives looking ahead, and we can only understand them looking back." Let us gather for Wednesdays in Lent at 5:30 PM in Brooks Hall for Soup & Bread supper followed by a time of “story-telling” and weaving our stories together as we look to the future. Each Wednesday will close with a variation of Compline or Prayers for the Evening. Watch for more details and join in this Holy Journey in Lent!

We’re excited to start organizing the 2025 Red Door Marketplace! This annual event is a handcrafted goods and bake sale open to the community, with all proceeds supporting Trinity outreach. Throughout March, keep an eye out for an information and sign-up table at Sunday coffee hours, where you can learn more and pledge your support by filling in the blank: "I will help by ________." We look forward to coming together to make this event a success!

Seeking Volunteers for the Following Ministry Areas:

  • Our Video/Tech Team needs some new hands on deck for videoing and livestreaming our services, especially Sundays at 10 AM. No major video or tech experience required, but comfort and familiarity with tech is desired. Contact Mark Welch.
  • Nursery Helpers are needed periodically to serve on Sundays when Stacey cannot be here OR when nursery is held in the Trinity Nursery to ensure that we are honoring Safe-Guarding God’s Children and keeping our young children cared for and safe. Contact Elizabeth WJ+.

ALTAR FLOWER THANKSGIVINGS & MEMORIALS:

Would you like to give thanks for a special occasion or a special person or remember a loved one by contributing to the Altar Flowers? Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, remembrance, or a personal milestone, making a contribution to the Altar Flower fund on specific Sundays is a meaningful way to share thanksgivings and loving memories with the congregation.  To contribute, please, see Kelly Metcalf, our Parish Administrator, about making a $50.00 contribution for designated Sundays on the Altar Flowers Calendar. Your generosity helps beautify our worship space, glorify God and enhance our praise and reflection.

“OFFICE HOURS” for our Care Specialist: To enhance accessibility, Jeanne Merritt, parishioner and representative of Bend Senior Care, offers “office hours” in the Trinity Chapel every Wednesday from 10 - 11 AM. If you, a family member, or a friend have questions about aging or find yourself facing age-related challenges, feel free to stop by the chapel or call the church at that time.
