The Village of Key Biscayne is preparing for extreme weather this weekend as the remnants of Pacific Hurricane Agatha impact South Florida.

This system is forecast to approach the Florida peninsula Friday night and early Saturday. Heavy rainfall is likely to spread across southern Florida Friday through Saturday as we expect between 7-10.5 inches of rain. Flash Flooding is the primary threat.

Gusty/squally conditions and deteriorating marine/surf conditions will likely begin Friday afternoon and continue into Saturday.

Fire Rescue and Police are prepared and ready to assist.

Sandbags Available Outside Beach Park

Sandbags are now available outside of Beach Park / Beach Club on Ocean Drive for residents who need them to prevent or reduce flood water damage to their homes.

The self-serve distribution begins Friday, June 3 at 11 a.m. and is on a first come, first serve basis.

Please be prepared to fill your own sandbags.
