JUNETEENTH - Freedom Day

June 19, 2025

Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States. It is celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the ending of slavery in the United States. The holiday's name, first used in the 1890s, is a portmanteau of the words "June" and "nineteenth", referring to June 19, 1865, the day when Major General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas at the end of the American Civil War. The holiday is considered the "longest-running African-American holiday"[12] and has been called "America's second Independence Day".[13][14] Juneteenth falls on June 19 and has often been celebrated on the third Saturday in June.

Updated Flu - Covid - RSV Info

Respiratory syncytial (sin-SISH-uhl) virus, or RSV, is a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. Most people recover in a week or two, but RSV can be serious. Infants and older adults are more likely to develop severe RSV and need hospitalization. Vaccines are available to protect older adults from severe RSV. Vaccines for pregnant people or monoclonal antibody products are available to protect infants and young children from severe RSV.

Getting an annual flu vaccine reduces the severity and spread of respiratory illness.

This is more important than ever because flu, RSV, and Covid-19 are all circulating during the fall and winter seasons.

Flu vaccination is especially important for adults 65 years and older, who account for most hospitalizations and deaths from flu – and from Covid-19.
