“This Week at OPICA”
Martin Luther King Day
Monday, January 16, 2023

On this special day of observation, and also 365 days a year, we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his impact on civil rights and inclusivity. Dr. King sought to cultivate a movement--calling upon individuals to take action to improve their communities in any way--suggesting that the accumulation of small compassionate acts helps to move the needle in a positive direction for the greater collective.

In Celebration of MLK Day, OPICA will be closed on
Monday, January 16, 2023.

See you on Tuesday

Top Ten Things for Caregivers to Start Doing for the New Year
Eat More Ice Cream!
Why do we eat more ice cream in the winter?
Ice cream is a popular comfort food, so it only makes sense that we’d eat more when we need “comfort” (it’s COLD outside).Actually, we all eat more ice cream in the winter than in summer. On average, of course, because we eat more of EVERYTHING in winter than summer. We eat more food in the winter months - especially in colder climates - than we do when it’s warmer.
But ice cream is AOK anywhere, anytime.
