On January 14, 378 CE, 8.17.1.4.12 in the Maya Long Count calendar, representatives from the great city of Teotihuacan (led by a war captain named "Fire Born") walked into Tikal.  For reasons not explained, Tikal's king "Great Burning Paw" died that same day and Teotihuacan "took over management".
