Events
24th Annual Everybody Wins DC Gala
Everybody Wins DC’s 24th Annual Gala is our largest fundraising event of the year. Join  Everybody Wins DC  as we celebrate 24 years of shared reading  with a magical evening of auctions, awards, dinner, and live entertainment to support our work across elementary schools in the DC metropolitan area.

This year, we are bringing themed gift baskets back to the auction! All Reading Mentors are invited to support the Gala by contributing items for the gift baskets, which will be featured in the silent auction.

Check out the variety of themes for our baskets then bring your contribution to Power Lunch and give it to your school coordinator. You can help fill your school’s basket and/or contribute items that align with other themes as well. Remember to fill out a donation form

If you would like to donate other, larger items to the silent auction, become a Gala sponsor, or have any questions about the Gala, contact Holland Diz at hdiz@everybodywinsdc.org

We hope you can join us in April, along with hundreds of others, in what is sure to be a special celebration.

EWDC Gains 6 New School Sponsors
Everybody Wins DC has kicked off 2019 with new support for the Power Lunch program at 6 DC elementary schools. The American Petroleum Institute (API), Bloomberg Philanthropies, Clark Charitable Foundation, The Harbour Group, Skadden, and Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have stepped up to become Power Lunch School Sponsors:

Power Lunch School Sponsors assume prominent roles in the effort to spread the joy of reading to our Power Lunch program at a specific school. Many of our Power Lunch School Sponsors have employees who read weekly with elementary school students during their lunch hour to improve their lives through reading. The relationships built over the years between the mentors and the students strengthen participants’ self-confidence and improve interpersonal skills.

If you are interested in becoming a Power Lunch School Sponsor contact Holland Diz at hdiz@everybodywinsdc.org
Mentor Recruitment Results Are In!
The Mentor Recruitment Challenge is over and the results are in! Thank you to each and every mentor that participated on behalf of Everybody Wins DC. We received 75 applications throughout the month of January. Well done!

Although the challenge is over, the need for more mentors is still great. Mentors, you can still recruit new mentors. Visit our Mentor Recruitment page for recruitment materials and ideas.

More Ways to Give
In addition to monetary donations, there are a number of ways you can support our mission:

  • Coordinate a book drive at work: In December, Monumental Sports and Entertainment Foundation hosted a holiday book drive on behalf of EWDC to provide books for Power Lunch students at 11 of our partner schools to read during Power Lunch sessions and add to their personal libraries. In less than a month, Monumental employees purchased 300 BOOKS that students had been asking for. Visit our Amazon Wish List to view a list of titles. Hosting your own book drive is easy! For more information on coordinating your own book drive visit our website here.
