Fondren BID Security prompts arrests
.....Fondren Security Chief Cory Whitlock was key in the arrests of three subjects on Friday on Lakeland Drive.
.....As he was patrolling the business district, Whitlock noticed suspects fitting the description of those recently tied to auto burglaries in the area.
.....He notified UMMC police who secured the area, then called JPD.
.....The suspects were arrested upon discovery of narcotics and weapons.

Sweet Potato Queens in Fondren
.....Several hundred Sweet Potato Queens are scheduled to shop, eat and drink in Fondren on the afternoon of March 25 prior to the St. Paddy's Day Parade the next day, according to Jill Conner Brown, THE Sweet Potato Queen.

.....Bubble Tea is Fondren's newest drink addition. It's a tea based beverage with chewy, flavorful pearls added. And, it's coming to Fondren Village, thanks to Ezra Brown and the new Soule' Coffee.
.....Soule Coffee is schedule to open in March in the space formerly occupied by Blithe and Vine (next to Fondren Fine Papers and Gifts). In addition to Bubble Tea, Soule Coffee will also offer coffee drinks, smoothies and cakes.

Marathon runners return to Fondren
.....On February 19, more than 1,000 runners made their way through Fondren as participants in the Mississippi Blues Marathon. And, Fondren welcomed them with music and cheering!

PraCon hosts town hall meeting
.....PraCon Global Investment Group will host a town hall meeting on Wednesday, March 16, 6 p.m. to discuss plans for the redevelopment of the old McRae's site on Meadowbrook Road.
.....The company has requested the property be rezoned to allow upscale multifamily dwellings. The City of Jackson Planning Board will conduct a public hearing on the rezone request on March 23, 1:30 p.m. at 200 S. President Street.
....."We believe this economic development project will be the anchor needed to spur the redevelopment in North Fondren that will have a positive social impact in the neighborhood," said Gabriel Prado, CEO and President of PraCon Global Investment Group.
