Greetings from your State House:

On Tuesday, Frances Crowe — a mentor and inspiration to me and countless others — departed our world at 100. She has long brought to mind George Bernard Shaw's "splendid torch" passage and his call for a life lived in service of community. Later today, I'm speaking at a UMass School of Public Policy program focused on the future of public service. I'll lead off with Shaw's quote, “This is the true  joy  in life, the being used for a purpose .” Read my remarks here, offered with love for Frances.

In the spirit of 'keepin on,' as Frances would have urged us to do, I'm writing to share updates about our team, new resources, and upcoming events.

Stay tuned for another newsletter in September with loads of information about a listening tour, upcoming hearings, and more!

Our team

First, I’m thrilled to introduce you to someone who hit the ground running full speed, working for you in Boston.

Huge welcome to Ania Ruiz Borys, our office’s Legislative Aide. Ania will be based in the State House office and will work on constituent concerns, organizing State House events and briefings, and helping to push forward legislation and home rule petitions. More about Ania here.

Also, join me in celebrating the amazing Sam Hopper 's move to Director of Constituent Engagement. More on Sam here. (Ania and Sam are pictured below.)
