May Homeowner Education Opportunity Classes Announced
CAHPs Homeowner Education Resource Opportunity (HERO) program offers D-I-Y style home repair classes each month. Participants can expect to learn things like the basics of operating power tools, how to re-key your home, and weatherization tips for the winter months.

May's classes will continue with our wall construction series. Each week participants will be guided through the different stages of a kitchen remodel including, cabinetry , sink install, and tiling. Classes are designed to be hands-on and provide participants with necessary safety tips.

Reserve the Tool Truck Today
Our mobile Tool Truck and Tool Library is available to use for City of Lansing residents, neighborhood organizations, and community based groups at no cost. The truck/library is outfitted with over 200+ tools for home repairs, neighborhood cleanups, and community garden days. Tools range from lawn mower, shovels, garden tools, power drills, rototiller, and more. Individual tools may be loaned out as well.

Down Payment Assistance Available for MSU Employees
The Employee Home Ownership Program (EHOP) provides home buying assistance from employers, specifically Michigan State University. Eligible employees can use $5,000 reward for either a down payment or closing costs. This program has no income restrictions.

Senior Housing Counselor Achieves HUD Certification
Congratulations to LeighAnna Beach, Senior Housing Counselor for CAHP, who recently earned her HUD Housing Counselor certification. This distinguished honor recognizes a counselor's level of expertise, and commitment to helping individuals assess their financial situation, evaluate options, and develop a plan to get help.
