This little girl.
She wanted to be a dancer.
She loved to play with dolls and write stories about witches.
She pretended to be a banker, a detective, the President.
This little girl saw joy and wonder and love in everything.
Then trauma, depression and anxiety changed all of that.
And she didn't want to play, or dream or create.
She just wanted her life to end.
This little girl is me. And it took me years to even begin to heal; to face those thoughts and change them; to be able to go back to being more like that little girl. It took so much love, and so many people, to be able to say today, that I choose life - over and over again, every single day.
This is why this year, for Giving Tuesday, we created our "all-the-days" campaign. Because for me, and for so many others, life is so much more than celebrating holidays - it is about finding the joy in every single way, in all the days.
Please help us make sure we can continue to give the gifts, toys, necessities and experiences that all our kids and young adults need to give them a reason to hope, a reason to smile, a reason to celebrate all the days.
These wishes coming true continue to show our kids they are seen, they are heard, they are loved and that there is so much still to do, to learn and to look forward to.
