Fitness Activities Abound this Month

Spring time means lots of opportunity for outdoor activity. In fact, May is known nationwide as Employee Health and Fitness Month.

Why not join the One to One Walking club on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Noon? You need not register for the walking club, but you can join the Meet Up if you want to know what the routes will be each day.

Like to walk on your own schedule? Along with walking routes on the Wellness Website , we offer three Health Hikes that faculty and staff can use to check out the new Health Education Campus!

And the popular Core and More class is back during the day on Thursdays in a new location.

Spring Wellness Pop Up on May 23 at TVUC!
Join our team of Wellness Champions on Thursday. May 23rd on the TVUC patio anytime between noon and 1:30 PM for our first Wellness Pop Up Event of 2019.

Enjoy games, walks on the Nord Greenway and other opportunities to mix and mingle with fellow faculty and staff. There is no need to register, but if you would like a calendar reminder, click here.

Wellness Champions are fellow faculty and staff who model a healthy lifestyle while helping us spread the wellness word across campus. We are looking for more Champs! Send your application by May 15.
Financial Wellness 101 is Back, with a Twist

Customize financial wellness classes to your needs with our first 50/50 class offering. Join us for in person classes on Tuesdays at Noon in May:

How Much Should I Be Saving - May 7
Your Credit Score - May 14
Buying or Leasing A Vehicle - May 21
Building a Budget - May 28

Then log onto the Impact Solutions, TIAA or Vanguard sites to complete on-line programs. Those who complete at least seven classes will be eligible for the Financial Wellness Program Incentive. See details about the desk-side learning for this incentive.

Improve Communication and Connection with 8 Week Series

Learn to better manage stress in your relationships at work and at home with Building Connection and Communication in the Midst of Stress . You will learn and practice ways to improve diplomacy and respect, verbal and non-verbal communication, and more. Join Heidi Weiker for this popular series!

Join Us for Core and More at a New Time and Location!

In this 6-week class, participants will be led through 15 minutes of core work followed by 30 minutes of total body stretching. Open to most every fitness level, this class is designed to be just a little more challenging each week. Strength and flexibility should improve over the course of the series.
Our new location is in the Village Dance Studio which is behind the Starbucks on the East 115th, close to the track and football stadium.

Use Group Support to Grow Healthy Habits
In Healthy Lifestyle Boot Camp, participants work together to set health goals and take steps to improve them week by week. With educational discussions and weekly healthy homework, each faculty or staff member will feel accountable to take small steps to achieve big goals.

In June, many CWRU staff are forced to take time off or they will lose those earned days. The Wellness Program encourages you to take planned vacations annually. Don't be part of the 54% of Americans who don't use the time they earn! This short video shares a number of reason why vacations are good for your health!
The WW starter kit promotion has been extended through May 10th.
