Drainage and erosion?

This month we have received a lot of requests for drainage solutions, grading, and erosion control.

In GA when it rains, it pours! The heavy rains challenge our yards to manage the large amounts of water. Without the correct grading and drainage system your property can become a water nightmare.

Avoid expose dirt that can wash away, and direct the water away from your home!

For areas with light erosion problems, replanting with vegetation, adding new sod, and covering with mulch or pine straw are good solutions.

For erosion along footpaths, adding French drains, covering with mulch or stone is the best option.

For heavy erosion in areas of concentrated flow, the most effective solutions are dry creek beds, check dams or terraces (retaining walls).

Driveway options:

Have you ever wanted a driveway extension, or have you ever dreamed of giving your driveway a facelift?

Concrete driveway's extensions can look like an after thoughts and never really blend well with the existing driveway.

Prepping for the Fall:

Fall is right around the corner, and if you have Fescue grass, Fall is the perfect time to do aerating and overseeding.

Aerating allows oxygen, water, and nutrients to get down to the roots, which is necessary for growth and improves the health of your lawn.

We also offer yard cleanups if your yard need attentions.

Keep an eye out for insect invasions!!!!

Although there could be a variety of insects that may be invading your lawn at this time, the main ones to look out for include grub worms for both warm season and cool season lawns, as well as chinch bugs.

Chinch bugs are usually the most active in the months of June–early September but may still be present in some lawns such as St. Augustine. Other insects that may appear in the fall are sod webworms, fall armyworms and mole crickets.

If you see them in your neighbor's lawn, alert them to treat asap.

If you have insect activity, treat with a broad-spectrum insecticide labeled to treat the insect you are seeing. Or call your Turf Care Company asap for them to treat.

PATIO and WALKWAY

We installed a paver patio and a walkway, with channel drains.
We used Belgard Origins #18 and #6 pavers.

NEW LANDCAPING

Here we installed new plants to refresh the backyard bed. The client also wanted to create a new bed in the front yard between their home and their neighbors. We installed new plants and mulch.

EROSION CONTROL

On this Hardscape project, the entire side of the house was unusable due to heavy erosion. We gave the side of the house a second life by removing the roots and repair de area. We built 2 sets of steps using premiere block with stepping stone pavers from Belgard and we back filled with egg rock and river rocks.

SMALL LANDSCAPING

The Public Defender's office front office needed some TLC. They had several beds aournd the building that needed to be refreshed. We remove the old, and replace with new plants. Giving the beds a fresh and clean look.
