  • Wednesday, 2/12 at 7:00pm at CinĂ© Athens: UGA Creative Writing presents Andrew Zawacki and Aruni Kashyap - UGA Creative Writing presents a reading by two faculty members
  • Thursday, 2/27 at 6:00pm at the Athens-Clarke County Library: RESCHEDULED! Maureen Johnson: The Hand on the Wall - YA novel about a true-crime fanatic in a boarding school in the Northeast
  • Saturday, 2/29 at 6:30pm at Historic Athens: Digging Deeper than American Dirt - a discussion panel with Athens community members about the controversy surrounding the novel American Dirt. The event will benefit the Athens Immigrant Rights Coalition.

The Green Life Expo is designed to provide inspiration and the tools needed to help our community members become more sustainable in our everyday lives. They will be hosting hands-on workshops, sustainability panel sessions on industry and education, and exhibitors from local businesses and organizations.

Join Southern Brewing Company for an unforgettable St. Patrick's Day celebration! They will have a variety of unique beers flowing on tap including their Traditional Irish Red Ale, Cuchulainn, and of course a special green beer. The Athens Community Council on Aging (ACCA) is  gearing up for an exciting event celebrating their Meals on Wheels program throughout the entire month of March, with a 5K held on March 28th  at Creature Comforts!

St. Mary's  Family Birth Center's worked in a statewide collaborative - the Georgia Perinatal Quality Collaborative - to improve Georgia's maternal mortality rate, currently one of the worst in the nation. While their birth center is extremely safe, they wanted to do everything possible to remain in the forefront for maternal and baby safety, including intensive and ongoing education for our staff. The Georgia United Credit Union    just started their free Income Tax Prep Course at their Gaines School Road branch. This is their 15th year of partnering with the UGA FACS students to provide this VITA program.

The Georgia Technology Student Association will be hosting their State Leadership Conference at the Classic Center March 12-13 and will need approximately 250 volunteers to serve as competitive event judges. If interested, please complete the Judges Registration Form and Housing Form if you will need hotel accommodations. Share this information with anyone who may be interested!
