For Osterville Families, a resident has generously offered her experience & expertise to assist you with a plan for
Help Homeschooling
Students with Special Needs
Her name is Petra Schaefer and she is a former School Psychologist, who has worked in a public school system and as a college director providing students with accommodations.
Teaching a child at home comes with its own set of challenges and these challenges may often be magnified for students with special needs. She believes that together we can help ease the apprehension and stress experienced while homeschooling during this pandemic. As a parent of three boys, Petra understands first hand the joys and struggles of parenting and completing school work at home.
Petra would like to volunteer her services to support the community of special learners in Osterville. She is available to collaborate with parents to create a happy learning environment and guidelines for teaching your student at home. Should you need ideas on how to support your child in staying engaged, organized and happy to learn, she would be delighted to help you!
If you are interested, please send
· your name
· best mode of contact-either email or phone/best time
· your child’s grade and age
· brief description of your desired outcomes
