New Hampshire Downloadable Books
The library's subscription to NH Downloadable Books provides patrons access to very expensive content, in a very cost-effective manner. This would be impossible for the library to do alone, and without the wide selection of available titles. Patrons can download e-books, audiobooks, and magazines to their computer, tablet, smartphone or Kindle. Download the Libby for Overdrive app from your device’s App Store.
The Libby app will be used and linked directly to your library card. Be aware that if you are not able to download an item, it may be because you have an overdue book on your account,
or your card has expired.

New Hampshire 1000 Books Before Kindergarten
The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless. Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler.
The goal is to read 1,000 books before your little one starts kindergarten- and yes you can repeat books! We know that all kids have favorites! If you read just 1 book a night, you will have read 365 books in a year. By the time they start kindergarten, it's possible to have read 1,825 books together!
Not only will your child benefit from having a larger vocabulary, and more interest in reading, but studies have shown that reading to a child daily is an early indicator of academic success. The bonding time while you read to/with a child is possibly one of the most wonderful benefits!

Orion Starblast Telescope

Did you know that we have a telescope available for you to check out? Adult patrons in good standing can borrow the telescope for one week. The telescope was donated and is fostered by the NH Astronomical Society, part of the Library Telescope Program. Call for information.

Story Time!
Wednesdays at 10:30 AM
Our Story Time is a fun and interactive program that combines
read-aloud stories, songs, rhymes, flannel boards, and some dancing!
This Story Time is designed for ages 18 month to 5 years, with babies most welcome!
After the activities, we provide a "Stay and Play" component. This is a great opportunity for children to play and moms/dads to meet and mingle.

due to staff training.

THIS PROGRAM IS PERFECT FOR ALL AGES,
and we hope you will bring the family!
Picture your backyard and envision gray squirrels, those forest acrobats, springing between the thin treetop branches. Chipmunks scampering on the ground, vacuuming up seeds at a frenzied pace. Possums and skunks are active at night, leaving evidence of their presence with prints in the snow or mud (or dug up lawns!).
We see and hear these amazing mammals, including foxes and coyotes, throughout the year as they share outdoor spaces with us. Join Kelly Dwyer as we explore:

· Essential ecological roles they play in various habitats.

While it makes spoken words sing like sauntering music, Robert Frost’s poetry can also help us appreciate the rigor of life on a New England farm in the early 20th century. (Hint: It was hard.) In an exploration of both New Hampshire history and Frost’s poetry, author and poet Jeffrey Zygmont recites a selection of Frost’s poems about farming. Alongside each recitation, he provides background on Frost’s life, offering insight into the poem’s origins, and commentary on the work’s artistic beauty, as well as the experiences and emotions it expresses. Participants will join a lively discussion celebrating Robert Frost’s unique gift for capturing farm life in poetry.
