Did You Know?
CALL FOR ARTISTS!
We are so excited to announce Mask On, Athens! The official press release rolls out tomorrow. The gist: We are hosting a competition amongst local artists who will submit original artwork around the theme “Envision Athens.” After all submissions have been received, we will invite the community to vote for their favorite on our Facebook page. The winning design gets their artwork printed on fabric which will then be turned into face masks! The winning artist will also receive a cash prize of $1000.
These masks will be sold online via Satisfactory Printing, and we imagine we will have a limited supply for any local retailers interested in selling in their shops as well. Proceeds will benefit the Athens Creatives Directory, an all-new collaborative project between the Athens-Clarke County Economic Development Department and the Arts and Culture workgroup of Envision Athens, CREATE Athens. Serving as a central hub for creatives to post their work, the directory will stimulate the local creative economy by connecting consumers with producers of art.

Please share this exciting project with any Athens-based artist you know. All entries must be received by end of day on Friday, August 28. Please email [email protected] for official rules and guidelines.
