Rev. Dr. Wirth will preach a sermon Straining After Images

based on Matthew 5:13-20

This Sunday we welcome Guest Preacher, The  Rev. Dr. Steven Wirth.

Rev. Dr. Wirth recently retired from his position as a Foundation Ministry Relations Officer for the Presbyterian Foundation. Before beginning his work with Foundation he served as pastor of Grace First Presbyterian in Long Beach, Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian in Lafayette, and Pacific Beach Presbyterian in San Diego. Steve is currently chair of the Presbytery's Committee on Ministry.  His M.Div. degree is from Dubuque Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA where he grew up and he earned a D.Min. from San Francisco Theological Seminary. He has been married to Katharin Rundus for 41 years. Their son Alex and his wife, Megan, are pastors in San Diego. 

Steve enjoys golf on his off hours.

Several people have expressed an interest in getting together for lunch after Sunday worship, so let's give it a try!

Our next lunch date will be on Sunday, June 25, 2023, after the church service. Restaurant to be determined.

It will be fun getting to know each other better in a social setting, rather than just saying "Hi" on Sunday morning!!

Gathering of Spirits is an informal time of open conversation

 where human spirits can connect with one another and God’s Spirit

while sipping some spirits (or soft drinks).

Windsor Browns is a Beer, Wine, and Sandwich Pub located at the corner of Center St Promenade and Clementine.

It is an easy 1 block walk from the church.

Meeting time changed to 5:45pm to get Happy Hour pricing!

Fellowship and Goodies?

It's so good to see more people staying after church for the coffee,

goodies and fellowship!

One small problem! To keep the goodies coming, we are going to need

some more volunteers to bring them.

Right now, one person is doing most of it, so be a good sport and bring

some goodies, so we can continue this time of fellowship!

We can always freeze some, if we should happen to get an overabundance,

which I am hoping for!!!!!!

We can't say thank-you enough to Dale and his coffee cart, and Tracy,

who is his right hand gal. Without them, there would be no fellowship!!!

Please pray for Harvey Taylor's Mitral Valve replacement surgery that will take place today, June 22, 2023. Pray for everything to go smoothly, and for a speedy recovery.

Please pray for Daline Goode and family who is struggling with illness and is near death (cousin of Mellody Anderson).

Please pray for Melanie Irwin who has probable cancer (cousin of Mellody Anderson).

Please pray for the family of Lesley Burnett who passed way from cancer (cousin of Mellody Anderson).

Please pray for Scott who shared with the church on Sunday regarding his stressful burdens of family illness.

Please continue to pray for Wini Buchanan as her health declines. We also give thanks that her kids had a great visit with her last week.

Please pray for those in treatment for cancer: Ryan Gibson (friend of Tracy Ramont), Catherine Morris, Bill Anderson (Bruce Anderson's Brother)

Please pray for those on hospice: Patricia Carl



Please continue to pray for the health of: Matthew Williams (friend of Tracy Ramont's son), Esther Fieldhouse, Bruce Anderson, Luca ( son of Christina Cuddy's friend), Clif Buchanan, Jane Canfield (Glory's sister), Chris Coleman, Carol Talbot.
