In Psalm 139 the psalmist asks where someone could go to get away from God. And the answer is ‘nowhere.’ There is nowhere we can go that is away from God. God is always present and at work all around us. The trick is to learn to watch for and respond to God’s appearance, even if it is no more than a glimmer.

New to Anaheim First Pres and want to know more about who we are?

Been around for a while, but could use a refresher?

Interested in becoming a member of the congregation, but want more information about what that would mean?

Join us after worship on November 16 for an introduction to Presbyterianism in general and our congregation in particular. 

A light lunch will be provided and child care will be available.

Choir Practice - November 13

Our Chancel Choir is a non auditioned choir that is supported by the wonderful voices of our choral interns. All are welcome to add their voice as we lead the congregation in giving praise to God.

The Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) is currently working on writing a Mission Discernment Profile (MDP) for our congregation. When completed it will be used to post our position on the Church Leadership Connection (CLC) of our denomination. The profile is used by the denomination to match our position with potential candidates and also provides candidates for the position of Pastor with an overview of congregation and what we are looking for in our next pastor.

Diapers and Dignity

The opportunities to help families in need are plenty this winter! To ease the burden of essential costs, Family Promise is hosting a diaper and food drive for our Diapers and Dignity event at our Anaheim. This event is open to any family in need.

They are currently taking food donations for the following items:

• Peanut butter or sunflower butter

• Canned tuna, chicken, or salmon (pop-top preferred) • Ready-to-eat soups or chili • Shelf-stable milk or milk alternatives • Granola or protein bars • Instant oatmeal cups • Crackers (whole grain preferred) • Canned beans (pop-top) • Canned fruit in 100% juice • Canned vegetables • Microwaveable or ready-to-eat rice • Shelf-stable microwaveable meals

Hanging of the Greens - November 30

During worship we will delight in the meaning of our traditional Advent and Christmas decorations as we begin to put them up in the sanctuary. Following worship we invite everyone to stay and help us finish decking the halls of our church. 

We pray that these symbols of the season that signal our Christmas preparations will also remind us of our need to prepare our hearts as well.

Sunday Lunch Bunch - November 30

Anyone who wishes may join us in going out to lunch after Worship and Hanging of the Greens. The location is TBD.

Gathering of Spirits - Cancelled for November and December

We will resume in 2026!

Join us at 5:45 pm at Windsor Browns for a time when our spirits encounter God’s Spirit in spirited discussion on wide ranging topics.

We give thanks for the life of Heidi Ingalsbe who entered eternal life on November 9th at home with her husband Bill and her son James by her side. Please consider making a special donation toward Per Capita for 2025.

As part of a connectional church we pay per capita apportionment per member to support the work of the larger Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). This year the amount is $44.69 and will be divided between Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly. Every Presbyterian shares in the benefit of the PC (USA)'s system of government, so every Presbyterian is asked to share the expenses associated with coordinating and performing the functions of that system. Please consider making this special offering. You may add it to your regular offering, but please note that the donation includes an offering to per capita.

Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not regretfully or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7
