Elizabeth Gibbs Zehnder will preach a sermon Freely Give

Welcome Elizabeth Gibbs Zehnder

As a hospital chaplain, Elizabeth Gibbs Zehnder feels privileged to walk with people as they find their way through trauma and pain to healing. She says, “The hospital is an incredible place to witness God’s presence with the whole of the human family.”

In February of 2015, she began her role as the Presbyterian Chaplain at LA County hospital, a position supported by Pacific, San Gabriel, and Los Ranchos Presbyteries as well as the Synod of Southern California and Hawaii unite to support this position through mission giving. At the hospital she served as part of the Spiritual Care Department. She has recently left her position at LA County/USC Medical Center where she will continue to provide spiritual care to the patients and their families and the staff as the Palliative Care Chaplain at the West Los Angeles, VA medical center.



Before being called to hospital chaplaincy, Elizabeth served as pastor of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in downtown Los Angeles at the time when God called them to offer their sanctuary as a film and performance venue. Since this is a similar call to the one we sense God calling Anaheim First to consider, Elizabeth has volunteered to stay after worship to share Immanuel’s story and answer our questions.

LUNCH ANYONE?

Several people have expressed an interest in getting together for lunch after Sunday worship, so let's give it a try!

Our next lunch date will be on Sunday, June 25, 2023, after the church service. Restaurant to be determined.

It will be fun getting to know each other better in a social setting, rather than just saying "Hi" on Sunday morning!!

Bring a friend, spouse, or significant other( if you are lucky enough to have one)

Gathering of Spirits is an informal time of open conversation

 where human spirits can connect with one another and God’s Spirit

while sipping some spirits (or soft drinks).

Windsor Browns is a Beer, Wine, and Sandwich Pub located at the corner of Center St Promenade and Clementine.

It is an easy 1 block walk from the church.

Meeting time changed to 5:45pm to get Happy Hour pricing!

Fellowship and Goodies?

It's so good to see more people staying after church for the coffee,

goodies and fellowship!

One small problem! To keep the goodies coming, we are going to need

some more volunteers to bring them.

Right now, one person is doing most of it, so be a good sport and bring

some goodies, so we can continue this time of fellowship!

We can always freeze some, if we should happen to get an overabundance,

which I am hoping for!!!!!!

We can't say thank-you enough to Dale and his coffee cart, and Tracy,

who is his right hand gal. Without them, there would be no fellowship!!!

Please pray for Esther Fieldhouse as she recovers from a infection in her jaw. She also asks continued prayers for her son Gus on his bike ride down the Pacific Coast. 

Please pray for Harvey Taylor's Mitral Valve replacement surgery that will take place on June 22, 2023. Pray for everything to go smoothly, and for a speedy recovery.

Please continue to pray for Wini Buchanan as her health declines. We also give thanks that her kids had a great visit with her last week.

Please pray for those in treatment for cancer: Ryan Gibson (friend of Tracy Ramont), Catherine Morris, Bill Anderson (Bruce Anderson's Brother)

Please pray for those on hospice: Patricia Carl



Please continue to pray for the health of: Bruce Anderson, Luca ( son of Christina Cuddy's friend), Clif Buchanan, Jane Canfield (Glory's sister), Chris Coleman, Carol Talbot.
