Pictured is Susan Wei with Mytka, the student whose education she sponsored and who recently graduated High School and plans to go on to college. Susan journeyed down to Tijuana to celebrate Mytka's achievement as part of the annual fiesta/Mission Trip offered by Do For One Foundation. This organization, initially begun by Irvine Presbyterian Church (now Shepherd's Grove) connects sponsors with children age pre-K through college and seeks to break the cycle of generational poverty through education. Scripture: Luke 10:38-42

Inspired by the book, Liturgy of the Ordinary; Sacred Practices in Everyday Life by Tish Harrison Warren, we will spend the ordinary days of summer considering ordinary acts in which we engage in an ordinary day and how they invite us into spiritual practices that grow and deepen our connection with God. From making our bed and losing our keys to eating leftovers and fighting with our spouse, we will see what these simple, ordinary moments of our lives can teach us about worship and the life of faith.

Chancel Choir Returns - August 29

Our Chancel Choir's first rehearsal is Thursday, August 29th. Their first Sunday will be September 8th.

Gathering of Spirits - September 11

Join us at 5:45 pm at Windsor Browns for a time when our spirits encounter God’s Spirit in spirited discussion on wide ranging topics.

Please pray for Carol Hughes and her family following the death of her brother-in-law, Allen Marquart. He passed away at age 73 on August 19 while on a visit with family in Colorado.

Please pray for Alyse Hein for effective treatment for GI issues.

Please pray for those in hospice: Lisa Villian (Scott Liles' friend), and Jack (Jason Vega’s grandfather).

Please pray for those in treatment for cancer: Carole Chambers, Judy Jordan, John Harb (Kendall Schubert’s father), Matthew Williams (Jack and Geri Baird's grandson), Catherine Morris, Bill Anderson (Bruce Anderson's brother), Cheri Fawley (friend of Mellody Anderson)

As part of a connectional church we pay per capita apportionment per member to support the work of the larger Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). This year the amount is $40.65 and will be divided between Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly. Every Presbyterian shares in the benefit of the PC (USA)'s system of government, so every Presbyterian is asked to share the expenses associated with coordinating and performing the functions of that system.
