Fun With Flowers

The Global Food and Flower Show is coming to Anaheim Oct 17 & 18. They donate the flowers to community groups after the show is over. We picked up flowers and brought them to church last Sunday. After church we invited anyone who wanted to help to stay after church and arrange the flowers. The beautiful arrangements were then delivered to church neighbors and members of our prayer list. Thank you to everyone who helped!

Over the Garden Wall Screening - Friday, October 24

Requiem Cafe will be kicking off their Over the Garden Wall collaboration with an event for the public in our courtyard. 

Specify that you are from the church and your ticket will be comped. Please bring a chair or blanket for seating.

Sermon: Glimmers All Around Us

Scripture: Acts 17:22-28

In Psalm 139 the psalmist asks where someone could go to get away from God. And the answer is ‘nowhere.’ There is nowhere we can go that is away from God. God is always present and at work all around us. The trick is to learn to watch for and respond to God’s appearance, even if it is no more than a glimmer.

Our Chancel Choir is a non auditioned choir that is supported by the wonderful voices of our choral interns. All are welcome to add their voice as we lead the congregation in giving praise to God.

The Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) is currently working on writing a Mission Discernment Profile (MDP) for our congregation. When completed it will be used to post our position on the Church Leadership Connection (CLC) of our denomination. The profile is used by the denomination to match our position with potential candidates and also provides candidates for the position of Pastor with an overview of congregation and what we are looking for in our next pastor.

Please consider making a special donation toward Per Capita for 2025.

As part of a connectional church we pay per capita apportionment per member to support the work of the larger Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). This year the amount is $44.69 and will be divided between Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly. Every Presbyterian shares in the benefit of the PC (USA)'s system of government, so every Presbyterian is asked to share the expenses associated with coordinating and performing the functions of that system. Please consider making this special offering. You may add it to your regular offering, but please note that the donation includes an offering to per capita.
