We are the Church

This Sunday!

Worship Information and Bulletin

This Sunday, Dave Dorman will preach and lead worship. Dave and Ruth Dorman were married at Anaheim First Presbyterian Church in 1980, and joined the church shortly afterwards. They moved north in the early 1990s when Dave took a job at Fuller Seminary, where he completed his Ph.D. and later taught theology. He has served both in administration and in teaching, and the family (with son Mark) enjoyed 6 months in Beirut, Lebanon, when he taught at the historic Protestant seminary, as a mission worker under the PCUSA. He currently teaches theology courses in the School of Nursing at APU, and administers their international nursing programs. Dave and Ruth are delighted to be back together with many friends at Anaheim First!

This Sunday Preacher Dave Dorman will preach a sermon,

Care as Action, Action as Care from John 3: 16-17.

LUNCH ANYONE?

Several people have expressed an interest in getting together for lunch after Sunday worship, so let's give it a try!

Our next lunch date will be on Sunday, July 30, 2023, after the church service. Restaurant to be determined.

It will be fun getting to know each other better in a social setting, rather than just saying "Hi" on Sunday morning!!

Bring a friend, spouse, or significant other( if you are lucky enough to have one)

Upcoming Events

A memorial service for Wini Buchanan will be held in the Sanctuary on the afternoon of August 12, 2023 at 1pm.

We can use everyone's help to honor Wini's life. We will need volunteers to bring cookies or other finger desserts and others who are willing to help with set up, hospitality, and clean up. If you can lend a hand, please email the church office (offices@anaheimfirstpres.org) or Pastor Kim (pastorkim@anaheimfirstpres.org).

Interested in how worship themes are created and how we can be more engaging in our worship offering at AFPC?

Click Here (https://worshipdesignstudio.com/15years) and scroll down to see the topics and schedules. Not available or interested in the attending the whole retreat, no problem. You may drop in as you wish. However, in order to attend you need to let Pastor Kim know so that she can sign you up. Just drop her an email at pastorkim@anaheimfirstpres.org and she will take care the rest.

Gathering of Spirits is an informal time of open conversation

where human spirits can connect with one another and God’s Spirit

while sipping some spirits (or soft drinks).

Windsor Browns is a Beer, Wine, and Sandwich Pub located at the corner of Center St Promenade and Clementine.

It is an easy 1 block walk from the church.

Our next meeting will be on August 22, 2023.

Meeting time changed to 5:45pm to get Happy Hour pricing!

Ministry Opportunities

If you are interested in more information, speak with Pastor Kim.

Fellowship and Goodies?

It's so good to see more people staying after church for the coffee,

goodies and fellowship!

One small problem! To keep the goodies coming, we are going to need

some more volunteers to bring them.

Right now, one person is doing most of it, so be a good sport and bring

some goodies, so we can continue this time of fellowship!

We can always freeze some, if we should happen to get an overabundance,

which I am hoping for!!!!!!

We can't say thank-you enough to Dale and his coffee cart, and Tracy,

who is his right hand gal. Without them, there would be no fellowship!!!

Prayer Requests and Praise Reports

Please pray for Dave (Alan Lopez's brother who is in the hospital in Houston with a serious cardiac condition.

Please pray for those on hospice: Patricia Carl
