Last Sunday, Pat Chambers celebrated her 97th Birthday with family and a few friends at Kirkwood Orange, her new home.

Sermon: Living as Good Stewards

Scripture: I Peter 4:7-11

During Lent and Easter, we sought to figure out our faith with Peter and his wandering heart. Some days he was daring and faithful, while at other moments, he stumbled and allowed his confusion to lead him in the wrong direction. After Jesus' resurrection, things changed. He was still far from perfect, but he experienced Christ's forgiveness and renewed call, and at Pentecost received the gift of the Holy Spirit. With a post-resurrection perspective and the Spirit's transformative power at work in his life, he was able to offer his wandering heart to God and live into a faith that changed his life.

This Sunday, we will continue our journey with Peter as he experiences faith after resurrection. We will be invited to join him in offering our hearts to Jesus and living our faith as Easter People.

New Series: Meeting God in the Ordinary - Beginning July 7

Inspired by the book, Liturgy of the Ordinary; Sacred Practices in Everyday Life by Tish Harrison Warren, we will spend the ordinary days of summer considering ordinary acts in which we engage in an ordinary day and how they invite us into spiritual practices that grow and deepen our connection with God. From making our bed and losing our keys to eating leftovers and fighting with our spouse, we will see what these simple, ordinary moments of our lives can teach us about worship and the life of faith.

Though it is not necessary, if you would be interested in following along by reading the book, you may contact Pastor Kim if you would like her to order a copy for you. The church will provide a physical or digital copy. Those who wish may make a donation to cover the cost.
